"Traditional hand drawn animation on paper." That'll get my attention every time. But the fact that its creator dedicated his work to a pair of legendary American animators (Eric Goldberg and Ward Kimball) is nearly as certain to catch my eye. And despite the fact that this short's really just a single sequence, the details are really fantastic.
If I were asked to identify its chief influence, Kimball's work on Alice in Wonderland would spring immediately to mind. And I recognized the little girl from Gershwin's segment of Fantasia 2000 instantly. (Unsurprisingly, a bit of digging revealed that as Goldberg's.)
