I've always loved animation, and I've always hated the fact that its audience is so frequently thought to be exclusively children--not just because I think it's a medium that lends itself to the right kind of adult material, but because I think it's valuable for adults to watch animation because it's a curative for a very common malady. So here are (some of) my thoughts on The Iron Giant, and on the values of animation. (Oh, and here's next week's teaser).
