Today's Summa Short Film (SSF) Is A Real Visual Treat. (Or Is That "Visual Trip?")

Today's short is The Inksect. It tells the story of a dystopian future where humanity has forgotten about books and knowledge and learning and "devolved into illiterate cockroaches" (as one does). It's bonkers, really. And stunning. And I'm not sure it makes a ton of logical sense. But the ride's a real trip. (Did I mention that it's stunning? And bonkers?)

In a distopian world where books are banned and fossil fuels completely consumed, the ruling corporations confiscated all the books to burn them and generate energy. However, in New York City there is an underground group of ex scientists, writers and artists who remember the books and risk their lives to find and save them from being destroyed. They are known as The Inksect, and this is the story of how Pikes, one of them, ends up finding something even more important than the books.
