I suspect the soundtrack of classic tunes had something to do with how quickly I was reminded of Pixar's solitary robot, but there are a number of other similarities, as well, including some really nice anthropomorphization and some excellent sound work. It gets pretty dark there for a bit (literally and figuratively), but the payoff feels quite Pixary-y, as well. (The eyes are a particularly brilliant bit of animation, and the wonderfully-careful lighting is practically a character, itself. Tom Teller and his team should be proud.)
A solitary dish washing robot living out his life in the back room of a restaurant is enlightened to the world that exists beyond his four walls, with the help of a small friend he breaks free of confinement to pursue his dream of exploration.
