I'm sharing another non-hashtagged piece today, which I don't really like doing. But The Sixteen and Harry Christophers performance was the only setting of Juan de Anchieta's "Con amores la mi madre" that I wanted to share. (Well, that and the version accompanied by Christopher Parkening, because the Christopher/Christophers connection is too much for me to pass up, since I'm 12. But you need to listen to the other one first. And also, playlist.)
Con amores, la mi madre,
con amores me dormí.
Así dormida soñaba
lo que el corazón velaba,
que el amor me consolaba
con más bien que merecí.
Me adormeció el favor,
que amor me dio con amor,
dió descanso a mi dolor,
la fe con que le serví.
With love, my mother,
with love I fell asleep.
Thus asleep, I dreamt
of which my heart was hiding,
that love was consoling
me more than I deserved.
The favour love lovingly granted me
sent me to sleep,
the loyalty with which I served love
gave rest to my torment.
And here's Jubilant Sykes, accompanied by the aforementioned guitar legend, Parkening.
